Mise-en-scene - Throughout the film there is a constant use of bright white and blue colours which really emphasize just how cold it is in the films setting.One of the many iconic landmarks we see destroyed during the film is the empire state building.This really stands out because it creates the effect of hopelessness.The audience feels this because the building is such a strong powerful structure and part of modern society so they begin to feel if this building can full then others don't stand a chance.
Cinematography-There are many a wide shot in ths film and they are used to maximum effect.These wide shots show the viewers just how widespread the damage caused by the tornados and tidal waves.
There are quite a few cose ups as well as wide shots.The close ups used within the film really emerse the viewers in the films plot and make us begin to feel for the characters because it really shows the audience their emotions.
